Sarah Kim
Consultant for the TAP Global Theological Education Inititive
Rev. Sarah Kim is a 1.5 generation Korean American and is bilingual and bicultural. She received M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University (1996) and is ordained in the United Church of Christ. She has a M.S. degree in International Affairs from Georgia Tech (2002) and is currently enrolled in the Th.D. program in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Columbia Theological Seminary. In light of her dissertation work on ‘awareness’, she offers workshops in promoting awareness and wholeness in the individual and in communities.
Rev. Kim has many years of experience as EM pastor in various Korean churches and has served as a chaplain in major hospital systems in Atlanta. She currently works as pastoral counseling resident at Care and Counseling Center of Georgia and in the Korean community.
As part of the TAP program of the Southeast Conference, she serves as the program coordinating consultant for TAP theological immersion in Thailand in January of 2008. The trip is being coordinated among the Southeast Conference of the UCC, Lancaster Theological Seminary, and the Institute for the Study of Religion and Culture at Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Rev. Kim lives in Duluth, GA with husband, two sons, and her mother.
