Attention all support staff of the United Church of Christ:
Southern Regional Women’s Conference is scheduled to take place October 18 -- 20, 2013, at the Cervany Conference Center in Live Oak, FL. The keynote speaker is the Rev. Sandra Gourdet, Area Executive for Africa, Global Ministries, Indianapolis. For more information, including registration forms, go to www.uccwomen.org. All are welcome and bring a friend. Mary Ruth, a member of Pleasant Hill Community UCC in Tennessee, is a member of the SRWC Planning Team and represents the Southeast Conference.
The Rev. Pam Walsh, pastor of Safe Harbor Family Church (UCC) in Flowood, MS, has announced that she will retire at the end of 2013. Pam has been a bi-vocational pastor and now desires more time with her family. She will also look for new ways to use her gifts of ministry among the people of central Mississippi. Best wishes on your upcoming new journey, Pam.
Construction for the major expansion of Holy Trinity Community Church(UCC) in Nashville has begun. Jennifer Austin, Church Administrator and Project Coordinator, reports that the foundation layout was accomplished on January 15. Foundation footings, under-slab plumbing, and electric wiring will be installed in February. Depending on spring rains, the building will be enclosed by June 5, with an October date for opening worship.
