Southeast Conference Campaign PDF Print E-mail

The Southeast Conference has been in an extended period of renewal and LL_SEC-Campaign-Logo-Color-High-Res_copygrowth over the last decade. For several years, leaders and staff of the Conference have devoted countless hours to planning the next phase of our life together. We believe that the future that lies before us is one full of promise for a faithful and vital ministry together. We have throughout our history borne the cost and rejoiced in the joy of this particular call to discipleship. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are on a journey toward TRANSFORMING CHURCHES – TRANSFORMING LIVES. While it has not always been an easy journey, the Southeast Conference is proud to continue the rich legacy which has been passed to us.

We are now called to provide support for:
> Building Covenant and Connection;
> Building Leaders; and
> Building Congregations.

These are the goals of the Southeast Conference UCC’s TRANSFORMING CHURCHES – TRANSFORMING LIVES Campaign. Each of these initiatives is explained in brochure.
This Campaign challenges us to reach a minimum goal of $1,400,000, an intermediate goal of $2,100,000, and a challenge goal of $3,800,000 over a five to seven year pledge period.

The Leader's Box

Contains helpful descriptions of basic positions, skills and perspectives in the church.  Dozens of topics available to download in PDF format.

UCC Scholarships for Seminarians

One of the most cherished features of the United Church of Christ and our ancestral denominations has been a learned clergy. We have long considered rigorous practical and academic preparation essential for the pastors of local churches, as well as for people in ministries serving the church in other offices, whether as chaplains, administrators, or educators. In various ways we have worked to support their education and training.

Privatization, A Challenge to the Common Good

Reflections collected in this volume explore what would be the consequences of radical privitazation now being proposed by conservative think tanks and those in the current federal administration, Congress, and state legislatures who are strong supporters of replacing public with private services.  Online in pdf.

Take Action for Justice

Visit the UCC Take Action Center, where you can read up-to-the-minute alerts on national and state issues and voice your concern about important matters of justice and peace. This is your one-stop advocacy center for contacting federal and state officials, corporate executives, opinion makers, and media outlets. Don't delay -- Take action today!

Manual on Church – Perspectives and Procedures for Association and Local Church Covenantal Partners

Volume 1, Draft 2 explores the covenantal relationships between local congregations and the associations/conferences acting as associations. It is to be used by and with Committees on the Ministry, Association and Conference staff and local church members to help foster dialogue and increased understanding of what it means to walk together in all God's ways as expressions of the church.

Called to Care: A Pocket Handbook for Lay Caregivers

This resource for lay caregiving programs provides general advice to help determine what kind of program would work and how to organize it. Many programs are hosted by local churches. Others may involve several churches in an area. The manual is also used by programs in healthcare facilities or other caregiving organizations, for volunteer visitation training. It’s been used ecumenically. The 2008 revision updated all of the care cards with newer resources, websites, and organizational information.

Our Whole Lives: Sexuality and Our Faith

Our Whole Lives is a series of sexuality education programs for six age groups: grages K-1, grades 4-6, grades 7-9, grades 10-12, Young Adults and Adults.
The resources are written by professional sexuality educators and provide accurate information for parents, teachers and pastors to be used in the affirming and supportive setting of our churches.
