Jean Miller, member in discernment at Kirkwood UCC in Atlanta, GA sustained serious injuries to her arm when she fell from the stage at General Synod. Jean underwent surgery while in Florida and has since returned home to Georgia. Jean reports that she is healing well. Jean wants to thank all who have prayed for her recovery and ask that we continue to do so. Virginia “Ginny” Nixon, Conference Moderator, who was unable to travel to General Synod due to health issues. Ginny’s wisdom and guidance was very much missed at Synod, but she was lifted up by all who attended. Tim Downs, Conference Minister and Carol Kobayashi, his wife, as they travel for 2 weeks of vacation throughout Pennsylvania and Tim as he prepares for partial knee replacement surgery on August 1, 2011. Although this surgery is routine, as with any surgery complications can occur. Tim anticipates several months of physical therapy after the surgery. We request prayers for both Carol and Tim. |
