Congratsulations to Kim Shelton, a member of Community Congregational UCC, Montgomery, was ordained on March 23rd, at Advocate United Church of Christ, Chicago, as an associate pastor. Kim had been a student in care in the Alabama-Tennessee Association and determined to be ordainable pending a call. Susan Mitchell, who is on the national UCC staff and active in the Southeast Conference represented conference minister Tim Downs, and the Southeast Conference at the service of ordination. 

Congratulations to John Gill, pastor of Church of the Savior UCC, Knoxville, who received a grant for his sabbatical study, during which he will be studying the impact of long term pastorates. He will be interviewing long term pastors across the Southeast Conference and present his findings in an article.

Chris Lyman-Waldron, pastor of Praxis UCC, Atlanta, has been hired as the Director of Communications of the Southeast Conference. This is his first newsletter. He will begin to rebuild the website, and has a proposal to develop a communication network to strength the connection among churches in our conference and the conference.

Tom Query, a member of Church of the Savior, Roswell, GA, and a pastoral counselor with the Wellspring Counseling Center was installed on February 24th in a four way covenant in his ministry.

The transfer of ordained ministerial standing of Valerie Coe Lowder , a member of Kirkwood UCC from Southern Conference to the Southeast Conference, Atlanta was accepted on March 16th.

The transfer of ministerial standing of Clara Benson, a member of Circular Congregational UCC, in Charleston, from Penn Central Conference to Southeast was accepted on March 16th.

The transfer of ministerial standing for Rick Diekmann recently called as pastor of Brookmeade Congregational UCC, Nashville, from Florida Conference to Southeast was accepted on March 16th.

The transfer of ministerial standing for Kristen Barner, a member of Circular Congregational UCC, Charleston from Southwest Conference to Southeast was accepted March 16th.
