SEC Capital Campaign Update
The Southeast Conference has engaged Steve Havey of Havey & Associates to work with us as we explore the possibility of a Conference Capital Campaign. He has completed an extensive Needs Assessment Survey which he presented to the Board of Directors at our September meeting. If you would like to read the assessment, click here.
Winter Youth Retreat 2009
On behalf of the Winter Youth Retreat Planning Committee you are invited to attend the 12th Annual Winter Youth Retreat in 2009. We will gather this year at Blowing Rock Conference Center January 17-19, 2009. SAVE THE DATE!!
This year's theme will be, "Peacemakers: Bringing Peace to a Hungry World." Last year we created a working understanding of what Violence is and how we may participate in it. During the course of the weekend we moved from Violence to Peacemaking and we left empowered to be peacemakers in our community, churches, workplaces and schools.
This year we will build on our abilities to be peacemakers. We will focus on Hunger and Poverty as issues of violence and explore how we can be instruments of peace to those who are hungry and impoverished.
The planning committee is finalizing details about registration and we wanted to share our excitement with you. We can't wait to share and learn with you again this year.
Note that the dates for the Winter Youth Retreat have been moved from February to January. So expect your registration packets in the mail next month and give attention to the registration deadlines. We had a full house last year! Let's pack the house again.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me or call me at 336-402-2897 or contact the Blowing Rock Conference Center at 828-295-7813.
Peace--
Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn
